Postmasters – Frequently Asked Questions

What constitutes a Trip Charge?
Post Masters attempts to get all necessary information before installing a post in order to avoid a second trip back to the install location. If Post Masters is at fault in the install, location, or wrong materials requested, we will gladly go back out to the location and replace or move the materials at no cost. However, if we install at the location with the materials you have requested, then we need to charge a "Trip Charge" for our services and time. Thank you.

What is a Reset/Relocate Charge?
If we do not receive specific instructions/drawings to indicate where a post is to be set, our installers use their best judgement. If Post Masters is asked to move a post to another location after it has been installed or if a post has been knocked over and requires an installer to go back out and reinstall a post, there is a charge for this service.

What is Refusal by Owner/Tenant?
If the Owner or Tenant of the property stops Post Masters from installing a signpost and refuses to allow us to perform our services, we will not jeopardize any damage to our materials or posts by installing as requested. Post Masters will call the realty company who placed the order and attempt to get a confirmed approval between the realtor and the owner or tenant. There will however be a ‘Refusal’ charge for the first install attempt.

What if my listing is a Lot or Vacant Land?
All we require is that you mark or flag exactly where you would like the post to be placed and or provide a detailed map/drawing.

What do I do if the post that was installed is missing?
Post Masters employees will only remove a post from a listing if we are faxed a removal order from the listing agent/broker, or if we find that someone other than an employee of Post Masters has relocated the post. Post Masters employees are the only ones allowed to install and remove our posts. If a post is missing please contact Post Masters immediately. Please contact the seller or buyer to see if perhaps they have removed the post without your knowledge. Post Masters will replace the post provided that there are no city or neighbor objections, however, the lost post and its contents will be charged unless we can recover those items in the condition in which they were installed.

What if a post is vandalized or broken by accident?
Post Masters will replace the post at your request, provided that the circumstances of the situation are not likely to be repeated. Please talk to the seller to see if there is an underlying problem before ordering up an additional post. Damaged posts are charged according to the degree of damage. Post Masters will make every effort to salvage a post.
